Dallas Cup XXXII is two days old and the six FC Dallas teams competing in the tournament are a formidable 9-1-2 with one more game each to qualify for advancement out of the group stage. Here’s a roundup of how the Academy and Premier teams have performed thus far.

U-18 Academy Team: Gordon Jago Super Group

The FC Dallas U-18s won their first game of the Super Group against FC Barcelona 3-1 on Sunday. FCD’s goals came from Jonathan Top, Jose Perez and Daniel Garcia. The next day they defeated CS Cartagines 3-0 with second half goals from Jack Coleman, Bryan Leyva and Victor Pinal.

The team can clinch a spot in the semifinals with a win or a draw against Japan on Wednesday. If the U-18s do advance they’ll face the winners of Bracket C, currently led by Tigres of Mexico. Like FCD, Tigres are in position to advance with a win or a draw against Corinthians Wednesday night. If both teams advance, fans can enjoy a U-18 version of the Rio Grande Plate in the semifinals at Pizza Hut Park on Friday.

U-16 Academy Team: U-17 Age Group

The U-16s started play on Sunday with a decisive 6-1 win over Barrio Mexico of Costa Rica. Bobby Edet got the scoring started for FCD. Will Coleman and Erick Chapa each bagged a brace in the game, and Ricardo Mejia put one in from the spot. Mejia scored another penalty kick in the team’s 3-1 win over the Jacksonville Fury Monday afternoon. Zach Dunbar also earned a brace in the game, making him the fourth U-16 player to score two goals through the first two games of Dallas Cup.

The U-16s are tied in their bracket with West Side Metro Premier of Oregon with two wins apiece. FCD will meet the team from Oregon Wednesday evening in the final game of group play. The winner of that match will advance to the U-17 quarterfinals.

94 Boys Premier Team: U-17 Age Group

The 94s lost their first match to Brazilian club Brasilis FC 1-0 off a penalty kick. They bounced back with a 2-1 win over TSF Academy Galacticos of New Jersey. Both FC Dallas goals came from Reza Tavakoli.

Brasilis FC won their second game and sit atop Bracket A. In order to have a chance of advancing, the 94s will have to win their final match on Wednesday against FC Golden State Premier and they will need Brasilis FC to lose their final match to TSF Academy Galacticos.

95 Boys Premier Team: U-16 Age Group

The 95s earned a draw in their first match against German club Fussballschule Millerntor 1-1. Adrian Salazar scored the game-tying goal with 10 minutes remaining in regulation. The next day the 95s fell to Californian club Cosmos Academy West by a score of 4-0.

With the Cosmos winning their second game of group play Tuesday afternoon, the 95s can no longer advance to the U-16 quarterfinals. The FC Dallas 95 Boys Premier team will play their final group play match against FCB Escola Monterrey of Mexico Wednesday afternoon.
