FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas’ morning practice on the adidas Field focused on competition, as head coach Schellas Hyndman led players through a 7-on-7 and 3-on-3 drill before ending the session with a 20-minute game of 11-a-side.

3-on-3 Round One
Green: Bobby Warshaw, Maykel Galindo, Paul Ogunyemi
Red: David Ferreira, Bryan Leyva, Milton Rodriguez
Leyva opened the scoring for the red team, but back-to-back goals from Galindo and Ogunyemi gave the green team a 2-1 win. After the first game, Hyndman shuffled one new player in for each side. Despite the switch, Galindo remained hot early in the drill. He was the lone player to find the back of the net in the second match, which earned another win for the green team. After a second substitution, Brek Shea scored early for red in a 1-0 victory.
3-on-3 Round Two
Green: Eric Alexander, Andrew Wiedeman, Eric Avila
Red: Ruben Luna, Victor Ulloa, Marvin Chavez
Avila found some space on the right flank and nut-megged his defender with a shot that found the back post. On the opposite end of the field, Luna played well with his back to goal. Shielding off an aggressive defender, he managed to turn with the ball and slide a shot underneath the goalkeeper to tie the game, 1-1. Chavez struck from 20-yards out to end the match 2-1 in favor of the red team.
11-on-11
After a long talk from Hyndman, two teams took the field for 11-on-11 action in an 80-yard area.
Red: Kevin Hartman, Zach Loyd, Alexis Pradie, Jackson, Eric Alexander, Jair Benitez, Brek Shea, Marvin Chavez, David Ferreira, Ruben Luna, Daniel Hernandez
Green: Chris Seitz, Victor Ulloa, Andrew Wiedeman, Bobby Warshaw, Moises Hernandez, Eric Avila, Bruno Martins, Bruno Guarda, Paul Ogunyemi, Maykel Galindo, Milton Rodriguez
Again, Galindo looked strong. He scored the only goal of the game after just a few minutes of action. The red team settled down after the first 10 minutes. They began to control the ball and hold possession for long stretches of play, but the green team’s defense held on for a 1-0 win.
Hyndman brought on Peri Marosevic for Rodriguez midway through the 20-minute game. Bryan Leyva replaced Martins for green.
FC Dallas will return to the pitch for their second session of the day at 4:30 p.m. CT. Stay tuned to FCDallas.com for more updates.
