FC Dallas return home with their unbeaten streak intact, when they play host to the New England Revolution on Saturday evening at Pizza Hut Park (7:30 p.m. CT, TXA21). FCD came off a two-game road swing with a win and a draw, reaching a 2-2 result with Texas rivals Houston Dynamo last weekend. The Revolution are coming off a 1-0 home defeat by the LA Galaxy last weekend.

FC Dallas saw their shutout streak end but still lengthened their
unbeaten run to eight games with a 2-2 draw against the Houston Dynamo on
Saturday evening at Robertson Stadium. FCD has 22 points from 11 games
on the season, in second place in the Western Conference.

LAST MATCH (at Houston)
• FC Dallas took the lead in the 27th minute. Fabian Castillo
screamed a 25-yard shot off the crossbar that rebounded straight out
to Andrew Jacobson, who headed the ball back into the goal with 'keeper
Tally Hall having dove to save the initial attempt.
• The Dynamo pulled level in the 42nd minute, as Brad Davis
picked out Cam Weaver in the right of the box, who struck to end FCD's
shutout run at 531 minutes.
• FCD regained the lead in the 70th minute when Ugo Ihemelu snapped
a header from a Marvin Chávez corner kick past a diving Hall. Two
minutes later the Dynamo went down a man when Kofi Sarkodie committed a
second bookable offense.
• Three minutes from full time, a Davis through ball to
second-half substitute Colin Clark opened the FCD defense, and Clark
fired a low shot past Kevin Hartman to secure a share of the spoils.
• FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman made one change to the team
that defeated Seattle Sounders FC 1-0 at Qwest Field. Bobby Warshaw came
in at center back for George John.

TEAM NEWS
• FC Dallas saw their shutout streak come to an end at 531 minutes,
the fifth-longest stretch without conceding a goal in MLS history. It
was an FCD club record and the longest in the league this season. The
MLS record is 727 scoreless minutes, set by Houston in 2007.
• “We were able to score two goals in a very, very difficult
environment,” FCD coach Schellas Hyndman said. “I’m disappointed that we
weren’t able to hang on at the end, but give a lot of credit to Houston
and their desire not to lose.”
• FC Dallas also ended the month of May unbeaten in seven games. A
year ago, FCD lost once in the month (May 20, 0-1 to LA Galaxy) – their
last loss until mid-October, 19 games unbeaten. Dallas currently has an
eight-game undefeated streak overall.
• After three consecutive home games, FC Dallas embarked on a
two-game trip in four days to Seattle and Houston and came away with
four of a possible six points.
• “I think that we’ll look back and maybe see an opportunity lost,
but at the same time, we proved to ourselves and Houston that we’re able
to go on the road and find success,” goalkeeper Kevin Hartman said.
• After five consecutive appearances as a substitute, rookie Bobby
Warshaw made his first MLS start, coming into central defense in place
of George John. Warshaw was the club’s first-round selection (17th
overall) out of Stanford University in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.
• “It was the first time Bobby started, and it was a difficult game
for him,” Hyndman said. “He played against [Cam] Weaver and [Will]
Bruin, two big, strong strikers, and then you have [Geoff] Cameron
coming in. We expected it was going to be a physical game in the box.”
• John had suffered a groin injury in the late stages of the midweek
victory in Seattle and managed to close out the match, but was unable
to rebound for the game against Houston.
• “This was a situation where instead of sending him home to Dallas,
we brought him to Houston to give him a couple of days to see how he
felt and we did a test on him before the game and he just couldn’t go,”
Hyndman said.
NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION
The New England Revolution went down to defeat at home, losing 1-0 to
the LA Galaxy on Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium. The Revolution
have 13 points from 12 matches, in sixth place in the Eastern
Conference.

• The game's lone goal came in the 69th minute. David Beckham served
in a curling low cross from the right flank and Miguel Lopez cut across
a defender to hit a glancing header inside the far post beyond the
outstretched Matt Reis.
• Revolution head coach Steve Nicol maintained the same team for a
third consecutive match, keeping the group that lost 2-1 to the San Jose
Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium.

• The Revolution were shut out for the fifth time in eight games
against the LA Galaxy. They’ve scored five goals in all over that
stretch.
• “When it gets to that critical point, we're just not getting it
done,” Nicol said. “[Against LA], we had three great chances and we just
didn't quite get it done. That sums up a lot of the stuff we do.
Sometimes, we look pretty good, but we don't get it done. That's where
we are at the moment.”
• The Revolution nearly found the equalizer in stoppage time, but
Landon Donovan cleared a Shalrie Joseph header off the line and Zack
Schilawski hammered a close-range shot off the underside of the
crossbar.
• “It would be nice to create chances throughout the entire game
instead of do or die. It’s not easy, a lot of things have to be right,”
Schilawski said to The Boston Globe. “And I think we’re showing progress
as far as getting chances -- scoring is one of those things that when
it clicks it starts to come easier and easier. And when it starts
coming, we’ll be tough.”
• The Revolution have taken just one point from six games when
they’ve allowed the first goal, in the bottom four percentage-wise in
MLS, matched by Sporting KC and Toronto FC and ahead of just Real Salt
Lake, who have lost both games when they’ve conceded first.
• “It’s hard to play from behind, especially for our team. Mentally,
we have to stay with it for 90 minutes,” Joseph said. “When we give up
that goal to start the second half and then we start pushing the tempo
some more, the game was really wide open and that’s good for the neutral
supporters to see such a game so wide open. Tonight we just couldn’t
finish our chances.”
• The Revolution were forced into an early change when center back
Ryan Cochrane had a clash of heads and had to come off at halftime.
Cochrane is listed as out for the Dallas match with a concussion.
• As well, Benny Feilhaber suffered an ankle injury that is expected
to not only put him out of the U.S. team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, but
out of action for a month.
• In response, Shalrie Joseph informed the Grenada Football
Federation he has declined the invitation to play for his country in the
Gold Cup.
• “If we had more points and team was playing well, it’d be a
different position — I would have been more comfortable leaving and
coming back in couple weeks," Joseph said. "The best decision is to stay
[in New England]. I can’t afford to leave my team in this position and
play in a Gold Cup tournament. The team needs me more than anything
else.”
• The game against FC Dallas will be the 10th of 13 games thus far
against Western Conference opposition for the Revolution. Two of New
England’s three wins have come in the Eastern Conference (D.C. United,
Sporting KC).
• “I think the biggest problem we have is we’re naïve. We don’t make
the best decisions at time. I think that’s our biggest problem. Between
the sync and the final third, we’re just that wee bit out, whether it’s
a bad decision or a bad pass or a bad run,” Nicol said. “We have a real
solid team. … We’re just a little bit away.”
