FRISCO, Texas (Sept. 5, 2026) – FC Dallas (10-6-7, 37 points) defeated Sporting Kansas City (4-16-3, 15 points) 4-3 on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium. Petar Musa’s brace tied the club’s single-season scoring record for the second consecutive season.
BIG DOG STRIKES FIRST
Logan Farrington opened the scoring for FC Dallas in the 28th minute. The Racine, Wisconsin, native scored his eighth goal of the season, while Petar Musa recorded his fourth assist of the season. For the second time this season, Musa connected with Farrington for a goal.
THE MOOSE IS LOOSE
Petar Musa scored his 17th and 18th goals of the season to help FC Dallas earn three points. With the brace, Musa tied Lionel Messi for the 2026 MLS Golden Boot lead. The Croatian has tied his career high and the FC Dallas single-season record with 18 goals. Musa is the only player in FC Dallas history to score 18 or more goals in consecutive seasons. His next goal will set the club record for most goals in a single season. Musa is now two goals away from tying Jesús Ferreira’s 53 goals for second place on the club’s all-time scoring list.
EL PITBULL GOLAÇO
Midfielder Kaick scored his second goal of the season in the 45th minute, assisted by Farrington. The Brazilian tied his season high with two goals, and FC Dallas holds a 9-3-6 record when he starts in midfield.
GOALS GALORE
FC Dallas has scored three goals or more in each of its last two matches, with five different players accounting for the team’s seven goals.
HOME SWEET HOME
FC Dallas returned to Toyota Stadium for the first time in nearly four months. During the 12-game stretch, Dallas logged more than 15,000 miles across three countries. Dallas will close out the 2026 MLS season playing seven of its final 11 matches at home. This season, the Hoops have a 4-2-4 record at home.
