Chattanooga, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2020) - North Texas SC made it back-to-back wins with a 3-1 victory against the Chattanooga Red Wolves at CHI Memorial Stadium on Wednesday.
Game Summary
First Half:
- 17’ – Kevin Bonilla whipped in a cross but Chattanooga goalkeeper Alex Mangels collected comfortably.
- 22’ – Greg Hurst opened the scoring for the Red Wolves from the penalty spot after Edwin Cerrillo was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.
- 26’ – The reigning USL League One MVP Arturo Rodriguez leveled the game at one apiece with an expertly dispatched free kick from the edge of the box.
Second Half:
- 48’ – Nkosi Burgess gave North Texas the lead with a stunning first-time volley after Rodirguez’s free kick evaded a number of Chattanooga defenders in the box.
- 56’ – Alex Bruce added North texas’ third goal with a penalty after Gibran Rayo was fouled in the box near the end-line.
- 71’ – Nicky Hernandez attempted a curling effort from way out but it ended up just wide of the post.
