Thursday, November 10: Twins called in to US National Team (SMU Daily Campus)
Former SMU students Esteban and Manuel Mariel were invited to the US National Futsal team for the Grand Prix de Futsal in Brazil. The twins helped create Dallas City Futsal in November of 2010 to try and raise awareness of the sport in the U.S. Esteban and Manuel played soccer for Inter SC, which eventually became a part of FC Dallas.

Thursday, November 10: Ruben Luna scores four goals in Reserve finale (3rd Degree)
FC Dallas home grown striker Ruben Luna tallied four goals in the final Reserve League match of the season. Luna led the league in goals scored with 10 on the season. FCD Academy players Mike Ambrose, Kellyn Acosta, Mark Ashby and Danny Garcia all traveled with the team, with Garcia scoring his first Reserve League goal.

Thursday, November 10: Panasonic Sees Niche For Rugged Android Tablet (Forbes)
FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman and USWNT forward Abby Wambach attended the launch of Panasonic’s new Toughpad tablet. Partners, customers, and media were allowed to take penalty kicks at Hartman throughout the evening.

Saturday, November 12: Despite struggles, legendary coaches see Shea as future star (Sporting News)
Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger has already spoken about Shea’s potential and how training with Arsenal could be extremely beneficial to him, and now legendary French coach Laurent Blanc is impressed with the youngster’s abilities as well. Shea is one of three finalists for the MLS MVP and will play for the USMNT again on Tuesday against Slovenia.

Monday, November 14: SBN Soccer Awards: MLS Best XI (SB Nation)
Brek Shea joined the likes of David Beckham and Thierry Henry on the MLS Best XI announced by the league last week. SB Nation also put Shea in the same class as Henry and Beckham, along with the young Texan’s fellow MVP candidates Brad Davis and Dwayne De Rosario, in their version of the MLS Best XI.
