The Dallas side dominated in both possession and scoring chances from the onset of the match, despite the fact they were working against the wind during the first half.
Dallas failed to convert on multiple chances until the 22nd minute when midfielder Daniel Garcia found an open Jonathan Top at the right side of the box. Top coolly finished the pass with his right foot to give FC Dallas the 1-0 lead.
With the wind at their backs, the home team continued to dominate the game in the second half. Five minutes after play resumed Garcia once again set up Top to secure a brace for the Home Grown forward.

Four minutes after that halftime substitute Bryan Leyva came close to making Indiana goalkeeper Joseph Mills’ day worse when he rang a free kick off the crossbar. Three minutes after that Leyva got another look at goal, but Mills was able to make the save on the bouncing shot.
After numerous tries, Leyva successfully helped FCD increase their lead when he set up a goal for Daniel Garcia to finish from inside the penalty area.
FC Dallas tested the crossbar for the second time on the night in the 65th minute when Home Grown midfielder Victor Ulloa rocketed a shot from outside the right corner of the penalty area that bounced of the pipe.
Ten minutes later Leyva tallied his first goal of the match to increase Dallas’ lead to four.
Indiana United started to show signs of life towards then end of the match, forcing FC Dallas goalkeeper Eduardo Cortes to make a diving save in the 78th minute and punch away a dangerous free kick in the 87th minute.
Ulloa set up Leyva for a brace in the 88th minute, to end the scoring at 5-0 in the Texas squad’s favor.
The FC Dallas U-18s will have a day off from competition before rounding out group play on Monday morning against Real Colorado.
