Weekly Training Schedule: August 8-August 13

FRISCO, Texas – With sole possession of second place in the MLS standings, FC Dallas (12-6-6, 42 points) heads into its first full week of training in five weeks before traveling to Philadelphia to face the Union (8-5-9, 33 points) on Saturday, Aug. 13 (6:30 p.m. CT on FOX Sports Southwest).

Playing two matches per week from July 12 to Aug. 3, the defending Western Conference Champions racked up a 5-0-2 record in all competitions before falling 3-1 to the league-leading L.A. Galaxy Saturday night in Carson, California.

Called into U.S. National Team duty by recently-named head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, FC Dallas’ leading scorer Brek Shea and defender Zach Loyd will be in Philadelphia this week preparing to take on Mexico on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff for the teams’ first meeting in a friendly since 2008 is set for 8 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN2, ESPN3.com and Univision. Loyd and Shea will remain in Pennsylvania following the international friendly, meeting up with their FC Dallas teammates when they arrive in Philadelphia Friday evening.

FC Dallas is off on Monday and will undergo a regeneration session on Tuesday, prior to the start of FC Dallas Reserves (3-1-0, 9 points) match against the Real Salt Lake Reserves (1-3-0, 3 points). That game is set to kick off at 10 a.m. CT on the adidas Field at Pizza Hut Park.

FC Dallas will not train on Wednesday, Aug. 10, but will return to the adidas Field at Pizza Hut Park on Thursday, Aug. 11 at 8:30 a.m. CT. The team will also train on Friday, Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m. CT before traveling to Philadelphia to face the Union.
