DENVER, Colorado (Sept. 20, 2026) — North Texas SC (8-10-10, 40 points) fell 2-1 to Colorado Rapids 2 (4-17-7, 21 points) to conclude the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season. Defender Slade Starnes scored the lone goal for North Texas.
CAPTAIN SLADE IS HERE
FC Dallas Homegrown defender Slade Starnes scored his second goal of the season in the 85th minute of the match. Starnes appeared in 23 matches during his first professional season and scored his first pro goal against Tacoma Defiance on Aug. 8. The captain was named the 2026 Defender of the Year, presented by Mansfield Fine Jewelry.

Catch Ian Charles and Natty James as they represent their respective countries this week. Charles (Puerto Rico) and James (Trinidad and Tobago) will compete in the 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League.

North Texas prepares for the 2027 MLS NEXT Pro Sprint Season, which begins in February 2027. The shortened season will feature 14 regular-season matches and four playoff rounds, concluding in May 2027.
