PORTLAND, Oregon (April 19, 2026) – North Texas SC (2-2-3, 11 points) won the extra penalty shootout after drawing with Portland Timbers2 (2-1-3, 10 points) 2-2 in regulation. North Texas went a perfect five-for-five to secure the two points.
THE BELGIAN NIGHTMARE STRIKES
Midfielder Edu Nys scored his sixth goal of the season in the 82nd minute from a Natty James assist. The Belgian goalscorer leads the race for the MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot.
HANDS BETWEEN THE GOAL Goalkeeper Eryk Dymora made five saves, including one penalty save in regulation and one in the extra penalty shootout, to secure his second shootout win of the season. The Duke alum has started all but one match for the club this year.
WELCOME BACK IAN CHARLES
Defender Ian Charles made his season debut in the 74th minute of the match. Charles suffered a knee injury at UCLA in 2025. Professionally, he made 11 appearances for North Texas last season, and made his pro debut on March 9, 2025, against St Louis CITY2.
